World Trade Center arson suspect charged over six fires

Oswald Adorno of the Bronx, a World Trade Center worker for the Tenco Co, faces second degree arson charges in six fires Monday night and a February blaze at the twin towers. Fire Commissioner Stephen Murphy cited motive as disgruntlement and lack of credit for workers. Adorno was in custody and to be charged at Ericsson Place stationhouse.

City mulls low denomination municipal securities for all workers

NYC may offer low denomination municipal securities to city workers and the public by midsummer. Comptroller Goldin’s spokesman said details like security type denomination and outlets are still undecided. Harold Melnick urged broad access for all wage earners, not only city employees.

Unions Move To Withdraw Funds From Citibank

New York municipal union leaders declared a coordinated protest by pulling millions in trust funds from Citibank to pressure the bank over its stance during the city fiscal crisis. Victor Gotbaum called Citibank the citys top foe while Citibank president William Spencer denied profiting from the crisis.

Sirhan Sirhan paroled to Feb 1986 in California

Sirhan Sirhan, who killed Senator Robert Kennedy, was granted a parole date of February 23, 1986 by California Adult Authority. He will have served 16 years and 9 months under the parole. Officials praised his behavior in prison while noting the murder involved a famous figure.
