Becker Doulin feud heats up in Newburgh primary
In Newburgh a long running feud between Republican County Chairman William Doulin and Assemblyman Daniel Becker escalates as Becker challenges Doulin’s edict on supporting endorsed candidates in the June 28 primary. Becker opposes endorsed candidate Abraham S. Isseks for county judge and cites a 1958 episode to argue committeemen may support any candidate. Doulin acknowledges no legal duty to resign but says committeemen should quit if they cannot back endorsed candidates and he openly backs Isseks.
