In a rain drenched Valley Central High meet, Monroe-Woodbury defeated VC to clinch the Orange County League American Conference title. MW's Ken Potter upset Jeff Weiner in the long jump, Tom Tighe and John Herbert posted strong marks, and Ralph Semmel anchored a fast two mile relay as MW built a decisive lead.

Port Jervis claims share in American Conference track race

Port Jervis overpowered Monticello 85-56 to stay in first place in the Orange County league, boosting its conference mark to 2-0 and overall to 7-1. Charities Dismayed Over Blocked All Star Exhibition
