The Port Jervis Chamber of Commerce estimates a 3500 dollar loss after vandals felled the large Port Jervis sign in Westfall Township Pa with a chain saw. Chamber president Oscar Wein criticized Westfall supervisors for statements that allegedly spurred the act and offered a 350 reward for information. NYSEG denial blocks $2.7 million gas rate hike
The State Public Service Commission refused a $2.7 million temporary rate increase for New York State Electric and Gas Corp. The concession would have raised Goshen bills by 65 cents to $1.75 monthly for about 1,200 residents.
