Go go Sign Replaced Nightclub Sign Victory in Monticello
Bon Vivant owners Joseph and Stephen Wahrhaftig celebrated after Liberty Sign Co. re created their topless go go sign at village expense. Monticello removed and confiscated the sign March 19 citing unclear ordinance language. The village reversed position after re reading the rule as it did not cover signs and setbacks. Greenberg argued the sign was offensive.

The
Mills Press Local Participation for Stewart Airport Plan
Orange County Executive Louis V. Mills demands mandatory local participation in Phase I of the MTA Stewart Airport master plan before more federal funds are granted. The MTA seeks 129,778 dollars in federal funds to cover part of a 194,667 dollar expanded study, with Mills alleging federal environmental rules are being sidestepped. The study widens to Dutchess Westchester Rockland counties and other areas within 100 miles, delaying completion to fall from the planned June finish. MTA chair William Rowan has denied Mills’ request for county input.
