Warwick library opens new wing with batik art show
The Albert Wisner Memorial Library in Warwick opened its new children’s division with Gay Schaubert’s batik soft sculpture display. Renovations funded by a $10,000 gift from Annie Wisner Dunlap repurposed unused lower level rooms for storytelling and reading, with the opening drawing over 200 attendees. Schaubert, a 26-year-old San Francisco native, has exhibited widely and creates mythical realistic figures in bright batik colors.

The columnist clarifies athlete's foot as a fungus infection not tied to one species and explains how it spreads from floors, carpets and showers. He notes most cases respond to common drugstore fungicides and declines to name a single product, comparing choices to selecting antiseptics for minor cuts.
