Hille murder trial medical chief testifies in Roscoe case
New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr Milton Helpern testified for three hours in the Roscoe murder trial of Charles Hille. Helpern detailed 500 strangulation autopsies since 1931 and supported the claim that Mrs Helga Hille died by ligature. The defense argued death could be accidental, but Helpern maintained strangulation was the cause even without certain physical findings if a suspect’s statement is true.
