Jennie Grossinger Day Proclaimed By Governor
Governor Nelson Rockefeller proclaims June 16 as Jennie Grossinger Day honoring the resort founder on her 76th birthday. It marks the first living woman to receive such a proclamation in New York State. Grossinger, born June 16, 1892, built a famed resort with 1300 acres, 1600 employees, and 75,000 guests annually.
