Sullivan murder trial coroner hints at autopsy influence
Sullivan County Coroner Sydney P. Schiff admitted under cross examination that knowledge of the alleged cause of death may have altered his strangulation suffocation verdict in the Helga Hille case. He testified at Charles Hille’s murder trial that authorities informed him of a key statement by Hille, and he acknowledged that pathologist input might have changed findings if available. The testimony covered autopsy methods, lack of scene examination, and whether decomposed bodies hinder findings, while a defense witness described Hille’s relationship with a Roscoe woman following the death.

Couple sought as bail jumpers in Brooklyn kidnapping case
A Beacon couple Ramazan Koitori 36 and Manda Koitori 30 are sought on a bench warrant for failing to appear at trial on charges they kidnapped real estate broker Jasper Canzoneri in Brooklyn last fall demanding 200000 in ransom. They forfeited 35000 bail and were to be tried May 15 before Judge John Ryan. Police traced the ransom call to 42 N Cedar St. in Albany. The pair allegedly arranged a 250000 loan to Canzoneri using a $600000 coin collection as collateral. The FBI may pursue cross state flight if they flee.
