Haldeman Denies Watergate Coverup Ties and CIA Meeting
Former White House chief of staff H R Haldeman told the Senate subcommittee there were substantial conflicts between the CIA account and his and Ehrlichman’s, while denying any role in a coverup. He cited a June 23 1972 White House meeting about limiting the FBI probe to Watergate. He recalled no discussion of laundering funds and warned no one about CIA interference.

Buckley Aims Constitutional Ban On Abortion On Demand
Six senators led by James L. Buckley propose a human life amendment that would outlaw abortion except to save the mother’s life. The measure would define unborn children as persons under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, require two thirds in Congress and three fourths of states to pass, and seek to block what sponsors call a new ethic from the Supreme Court ruling.
