Washingtonville board shifts on park land offers rights
The Blooming Grove Town Board reverses years of nonacceptance of free land for parks and seeks a right of first refusal on recreation land in a new development. Supervisor Patrick Kavanah notes the change aims to control land designated for recreation before donation to a homeowners association. The town’s only park is Mays Memorial Park, a 9 1/2 acre parcel donated by local businessmen after prior rejections and a public vote.
