More than 2,500 police and city officials attended the funeral of Frank J. Bugdin Jr at Sacred Heart Church. Mayor Beame and Police Commissioner Codd were among dignitaries. Bugdin was slain in a Sunday shootout with housing authority officer Thomas Vodicka, who was killed as well. Hundreds of officers from city and housing authority, plus contingents from Nassau, Orange, Westchester and Rockland counties, attended. Bugdin’s widow Ann and children Colleen Sheila and Michael sat in the front as Msgr. Montano delivered the eulogy.
