In Philadelphia Humphrey tops Pennsylvania with 31 percent, followed by McGovern 24 and Muskie 23 while Wallace draws 19. AIM cites widespread discrimination in BIA areas

The American Indian Movement cited rampant racial discrimination in the Dakotas Colorado and Nebraska after 50 days of hearings reporting 2755 complaints about mistreatment graft and mismanagement in the Bureau of Indian Affairs area offices It urged Congress to establish an Indian legal redress system.

UAW delegates back Kennedy for president bid

Delegates at the UAW constitutional convention cheered support for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy to seek the presidency though Kennedy again declined any Democratic nomination. He also criticized Nixon as a prisoner in Vietnam during a pre speech news conference.
