Table tennis visitors meet Chou in Peking

Gandhi mulls recognition amid Pakistan warning - East Bengal

New Delhi Indira Gandhi signaled she would give due consideration to recognizing the rebel East Pakistan government though China and Pakistan warned against interference India supports the East Bengal freedom fighters and denounces Chinese backing of Pakistani rulers. The East Pakistan government said it chose Chudanga Town near the Indian border as its capital and appealed for democratic recognition and aid. In Rae Bareli Gandhi stressed solidarity with East Bengal and dismissed external pressure.
