10000 Viet Nam Mobilized Reservists Called Up
Approximately 24,500 Army Navy and Air Force Reservists and National Guardsmen were ordered mobilized for up to two years of active duty. About 10,000 will be sent to Vietnam with total U S strength in Vietnam rising to 549,500 men. 88 units involved. reports say 8,800 going to Southeast Asia and 3,500 Air Force personnel. The rest stay in the United States for contingencies and replacements. Defense Secretary Clark Clifford announced at a Pentagon briefing.
