Police in Provo Utah said they had a clue to the man known as T Johnson in the $500000 hijacking of a United Air Lines jet. The plane landed safely in Salt Lake City after the suspect bailed out near Nevada and Utah as authorities combed the marshy ground and searched with air and ground units.
James R. Hoffa, former Teamsters president with a Nixon commutation, will testify April 17 before a House Judiciary subcommittee on prison reform. Other witnesses include James Bennett, Lawrence Traylor, and George J. Reed. Parole procedures face criticism over secrecy and arbitrariness and impact on prisoners.
