Pioneer William Tompsett Dies Amid Mitchell Visit
Pioneer farmer William Tompsett of Cheyenne county died yesterday morning in Mitchell while visiting a nephew. He was about 80, lived northeast of Sidney, and was a well known longtime resident. Accident Victim Returns Home From Illness

Land Bank Loans Over 1.7 Million to Cheyenne Farmers
Charles McCamsey reports at the September board meeting that Cheyenne County farmers received 1,781,100 in loans from the federal land bank and the land bank commissioner over the past three years. More than 647 loans have been issued, with 1,136,300 on first mortgages and 644,800 on first and second mortgages. The agencies supplied about 66 percent of Nebraska’s farm mortgage credit during the emergency period, totaling nearly 120 million dollars for farmers in the state.
