Domestic grain markets were weak with prices mostly lower than a week ago as the United States Bureau of Agricultural Economics reports for the week ended September 8. Wheat fell 2 to 3 cents per bushel due to slack milling demand and weak export sales, with European markets offering Russian French and German wheat at low prices. Corn also dropped 2 to 3 cents amid moderate offerings and slow inquiries from industry buyers. Oats and barley remained fairly steady, with better demand for malting barley. Rye declined despite small market receipts. Harvest in the Northern Hemisphere nears completion with a European outturn near record and larger Russian and Chinese harvests offsetting shortages in North America and anticipated lighter supplies in the Southern Hemisphere. US harvest is nearly complete and spring wheat marketing has peaked. quality is better than last year and protein is high.

Farm hand sues Krueger farm for damages
