Potter Triumphs to League Title in 13-2 Win

Art Closman earned his tenth win with nine strikeouts and a home run while Shea added a four bagger. Lodge Pole beat Dalton 5 to 3 and Gurley topped Sunol 16 to 8 to gain fair tournament entry. Beismeir won for Sidney 10 to 3 over Lorenzo and Beismeir also homered with Ed Meter. Jack Wilson of Sidney captured the league batting title with a .516 average. Standings show Potter, Lodge Pole, Sidney and Gurley advancing to the fair tourney.

The Sidney P T A hosted an informal reception at the junior high school Friday night for public school teachers. Ivan Robinson as PTA president gave the welcome, Rev J H Bicknell spoke for parents, and L T Poole greeted instructors for the board of education. Supt G F Liebendorfer introduced all faculty and board members. Musical numbers included a string trio with J W Cochran, Mable Nelson, Mrs J W Johnson, and two vocal solos Gypsy Love Song and a second unspecified piece.
