New Paving District Approved by Sidney Council
The Sidney city council moved toward completing pavement in district No. 2 with paving of Illinois street from Ninth Avenue to the city limits and a forty four foot strip to Hickory street. Engineer Gardner was contracted to oversee the project with four percent compensation on government funded work and five percent on city funded work.

Florence Atwood of the University of Nebraska estimates a real Thanksgiving dinner for a family of five can be prepared for about 2.25 dollars with turkey, dressing, cranberries, potatoes, a vegetable salad, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, bread, butter and jelly. James McIntosh Becomes Lawyer After Bar Exam
James Gibbon McIntosh son of Mr and Mrs J L McIntosh passed his bar examination Thursday and was admitted to practice in the federal and supreme courts. Several other candidates were admitted to practice in federal court and ten others in the supreme court. McIntosh graduated from Gunkie town university in Washington DC last spring after pre law studies at Creighton university Omaha and St Patrick's academy high school. His father was a leading Nebraska attorney until retirement and his grandfather J J McIntosh aided early community development. Continued on page 6.
