Western Nebraska DeMolays hold their 17th semi annual conclave at the Masonic hall in Sidney on Monday May 27. Activities include morning and afternoon sessions, a semi annual banquet, and a public dance at the auditorium after the banquet where the 1935 De Molay sweetheart will be presented. Leon Fine assists with the program as master leaders and speakers include Elmer Ladine and Rev J J Sheaff.

Four Potter youths injured as car hits locomotive on switching track
Early Sunday a car carrying four Potter youths crashed into a locomotive on the east town switching track. Walter Shubarth 18 and Elmer Hilpert 16 suffered serious injuries. Rudolph Shubarth 16 and Wilber Lueders 19 were shaken but not badly hurt. Shubarth believed dead on arrival but regained consciousness hours later. Hilpert to be hospitalized for weeks.

Memorial to Unknown Soldier Planned in Sidney Cemetery
The American Legion and the city of Sidney will erect a memorial to the unknown soldier at Sidney Greenwood cemetery. The city donated a plots for a grave and will install a 25 foot flag pole and curbing around the plot. A central location has been chosen to honor World War I soldiers who died in defense of the nation.

Maxine Marie Merscheim 13 daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Merscheim of Potter died Thursday noon after an emergency appendicitis operation. Nebraska wheat growers vote this week on extending the AAA control program into 1936 39. Parity price of 1.15 would equal prewar buying power, with current farm prices about 128 of the old level. Last week farm wheat brought 90 to 95 cents, leaving a 20 to 25 cent gap to overcome.

U P Streamliner To Be Started June 6th
Union Pacific officials announced the transcontinental service on a 3914 hour schedule would begin June 6 between Portland and Chicago by the streamlined train City of Portland formerly M 10001. The train, which set two world speed records last October, will depart Portland June 6 and reach Chicago June 8 at 9 30 a m. The first westbound Chicago departure is 6 15 p m June 8, with Portland arrival at 8 a m June 10. Eleven car train will include four sleeping cars.
