The Internal Revenue Bureau opened a zone office in Sidney with John J. O Connor in charge. Two Women Die After Highway Crash Near Chappell
Two North Platte women, Mrs Delores A Ziegler 20 and Patricia Wentworth about 20, died from injuries after a car driven by William Cole 23 of Kent Washington struck a parked state highway truck 17 miles east of Chappell. Cole escaped serious injury and was en route to Salt Lake City after picking up the women. Mrs Ziegler daughter of William Snell a Grand Island cemetery laborer.

The Chappell Register reports steel grain bins are being built at Devel county fairgrounds in Chap pell for wheat delivered to the Commodity Credit Corporation. A total of 154 bins will hold 2 750 bushels each, with 90 bins at the fairgrounds and the remainder at Big Springs.
