Jay Closman of the Sidney Country Club captured the championship flight in the annual spring tourney held Sunday at Sidney. He shot 166 for 36 holes, three strokes ahead of Joe Simodynes, also of Sidney, with wind driving high scores. Richmond ace Huntsinger won the president's flight with 174, while secretary's flight winner R. P. Kepler posted 185. E. W. Hurst, long known in Sidney and a former millwork entrepreneur in Grand Island, died suddenly in San Diego last week. He supported the Sidney semi pro baseball team and spent summers in the city promoting the local nine. Hurst moved from Grand Island to Los Angeles a decade ago, leaving many friends in Cheyenne County in mourning.

Missionaries Injured in Sunol Auto Accident En Route to Pennsylvania
