Burned body found in deserted cabin north of Lodgepole
The charred body of a 56 year old sheepherder, Benjamin A. Bayard, was found in a lonely cabin several miles north of Lodgepole early Sunday. Sheriff W W Schulz said Bayard burned to death when his clothing caught fire on Saturday after entering the cabin to dry his clothes. Len Younger, a ranch employee, discovered the body and Bayard's dog kept guard through the night.

The agriculture department proposal to keep rigid marketing quotas for the 1942 wheat crop won strong support across Nebraska and 39 other states. On the Ernest Wickard place two miles west of Lodge Pole another good irrigation well was drilled by Paul Booth for Mr. Wickard. Tested last week by H W Bigler the well produced 1009 to 1150 gallons per minute.
