Sidney area added .35 inch moisture last Friday, bringing monthly total to .72 inch, aiding winter wheat viability and replanting plans. Storm began Friday at 2 a.m. with drizzle turning to snow by 7 a.m., leaving slush that soaked topsoil. dust haze preceded moisture. Stella Pierce Talbott of Danbury Nebraska aged 56 died suddenly Saturday at her sister's home northeast of Sidney while the Talbots were en route to Boise Idaho for a new home. Born in Whiting Kansas she lived in Whiting and Kearney before marrying Gerald R. Talbott in 1901. Surviving children Cecil B Carrie N and Euelah of Danbury. body shipped to Kearney for interment. Fog Sets Off Head On Collision North Of Sidney
Fog caused a head on collision of two automobiles north of Sidney injuring three people. Margaret Ehmke of Bunker Hill was treated for a deep head wound and a chipped bone and dismissed later. Mrs Willis Beyer and her young son were treated at Roche hospital with facial and eyelid injuries.

Potter Lady Escapes Death By Poison Gas
Mrs. E. S. Hermansen of Potter narrowly survived carbon monoxide poisoning while using a gas engine driven washing machine. Found in critical condition by her son, she fainted twice during the wash and did not attribute the danger to fumes. An exhaust tube aimed into a coal bin and an open window allowed fumes to seep back into the basement.

Soil conservation funds totaling $178000 arrive in Cheyenne County
Ninety thousand dollars in soil conservation funds arrived in Cheyenne County last Friday and are being distributed to recipients.
