Two Men Paroled on Coal Theft Charges
James Tighe and Pete McBurnie pleaded guilty to a petty larceny count before District Judge J. L. Tewell yesterday and were paroled for a year. They must pay costs and the defense fee of R. P. Kepler. Originally held on a grand larceny complaint for theft of coal from the Union Pacific railroad, an amended petition was filed yesterday clarifying the charge.

Potter Irrigation Embraces Electric Power First In Valley

The Nebraska railway commission exempted several farm truck movements from rate regulations on local farm to market transport. Exemptions cover coal in interstate transport, farm produced fence posts and firewood, lumber and building materials, small weights up to 50 pounds by rural mail routes, farm to local markets for hay and crops, animal feed to farms, livestock moves to markets, milk and cream to markets, and household goods and farming implements moving farm to farm or ranch.

Dickinson Funeral Held Last Thursday
Funeral services were held last Thursday for Mrs. Annettie Dickinson 77 a pioneer Sunol resident. Interment followed in Greenwood cemetery. Born December 8 1860 in Ap paneus county Iowa she joined the Congregational church as a child and kept the faith. Three sons Bert Luther and Ethel deceased were born to her union with Friend Dickinson of Sunol. Two daughters Mildred Vacik and Patsy Booth, both of Sunol, survived. Dickinson died in 1920.

East Dalton Resident Dies Of Brief Illness
East Dalton resident Boyo Johnson Harms died at a Dalton hospital after a two week illness. He was 58 and a Fremont native who lived in Dodge and later Cheyenne counties. He married Christine Knudsen in 1927. they had three children, one died in infancy. Survived by wife, son Wilfred, daughter Jean, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were at Dalton Presbyterian Church with burial in Fremont. Rice funeral service oversaw arrangements.

Man Badly Burned In Tank Wagon Blast
Herman Jobman of Gothenburg narrowly escaped death Friday when gasoline he was loading into a truck ignited, blowing him away. He suffered severe facial and hand burns, treated by Dr. R. E. Roche. The incident occurred on the Morris Jessen farm near here, caused by a static spark. The truck did not burn and he was rushed to town for emergency care. eye damage not permanent.

Soil payments in state are larger in 1937
The Agricultural Adjustment Administration reports about 72 million dollars in benefits paid to farmers for cooperation in the 1937 agricultural conservation programs since January 1. It estimates about 335 million dollars in benefits will be distributed between March 1 and June 30, compared with 287 million in 1937 and 168 million in 1936 for the same periods. Prowler Strikes Sidney Homes During Police Drive
A prowler entered at least three Sidney homes Saturday night as authorities intensified efforts to curb the thefts. At 1416 Newton, Gus Hellbush’s back door was used. a wallet with $25 and keys was taken. A neighbor found the empty wallet and unrelated keys on the lawn. Joe Hahler’s home was entered. a youth on the porch was knocked aside as the intruder fled. Herbert Rabe’s home at 541 Linden reported no missing items. Police describe the suspect as a large man in a fur coat, with initial tips from a young witness.

George Poulos Dead After 25 Years in Sidney
