Dix Mexican Jailed After Auto Accident

Five Are Injured As Auto Is Overturned
A car driven by Mrs. J H Howitt of Chappell overturned east of Sidney on Saturday injuring five occupants en route to a basketball tournament at Scottsbluff. Mrs Howitt suffered a sprained back and was taken to Taylor hospital where she was treated until Sunday. Others treated and released included Mrs Fred Triplett with a fractured collar bone, Jack Carter with a forehead cut needing stitches, Elmore Papas with a head cut, and Dorothy Howitt with a sprained foot and ankle.

Several Horses Die in Dalton Area

Henry J Schley Dies After 50 Years With Odd Fellows
Henry J. Schley, 76, longtime Chadron and Cheyenne County resident, died Saturday at his home two miles west of Sidney. A native of Lind County, Iowa, he lived in Chadron, worked as a machinist for Northwestern railroad, and served as YMCA secretary. He and Mae Sampson married Sept 22, 1886, first Chadron wedding by a pastor. Schley joined the Chadron Odd Fellows lodge in 50 years, receiving the emblem last June. the couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept 22.
