Beet Dump Planned For Lodgepole Area

Men Leave For Army At Five A. M. Today
Cheyenne county senders early March draft quota to the army this morning. The selectees were told to report by 4:45 a.m. to catch buses for undisclosed army camps. This is the largest group yet sent from this county. Another ninety three men are scheduled to take physicals this month but a change in regulations will make it unnecessary to go to Cheyenne for pre induction examinations.

Former Lodgepole Resident Dies in California
Prank Lehmkuhl, once a Lodgepole resident many years ago, has died in California. He arrived in Lodgepole in the late 1690s to work in stock raising and banking. He married Georgianna Isenberger at Lodgepole in 1310. In 1910 he moved his family to Wahoo, remained there until 1924, then retired to California.

Trailer Camp Planned at County Fair Grounds
Plans for a modern trailer camp at the county fair grounds with streets sewage connections lights and water have been tentatively worked out by the city and county governments. The grounds could accommodate about five hundred trailers. The county would build a road to the fair grounds west on Linden Street and the city would extend water connections. Light facilities are promised by Consumers Public Power District. The council met to strengthen the trailer ordinance to prohibit promiscuous camping on vacant lots and in yards while favoring the camp idea at the fair grounds.

Rev Dyer Resigns to Lead Larger Ashland Church
Rev Ralph Dyer, minister of the Christian Church here for four years, tendered his resignation to be effective in six weeks after accepting a call to the Christian Church in Ashland. After Sidney voters approved condemning Consumers Public Power District property mayor R E Roche sent a wire to Consumers General Manager W M Johnson and President Charles B Fricke offering to negotiate for the purchase to avoid further condemnation steps. Funeral services for James P. Lindgaard 88 are held this afternoon at two from Craig Home for Funerals. Dr W T Kahse will officiate with Veterans of Foreign Wars pallbearers. A Denmark native who came to America in 1687, he lived in Potter Sidney Brownson and ran a blacksmith shop. Survived by nephew Belarald Lyngholm and two nieces in Cheyenne and Chicago. He was a pioneer in western Nebraska.
