Funeral services for R. W. Zimmerle, a prominent Sidney businessman, were held Saturday at the Presbyterian church after he was killed near a Union Pacific freight train. Dr. Paul P. Cheff delivered the oration as friends, relatives, Lions club members, and Boy Scouts joined in the service and pallbearers from J. I. Case and A. J. Jorgenson attended.

Pioneer Resident Of Sidney Succumbs At Home Of Daughter
Mrs. Clara Britton, a Sidney pioneer dating from the 1880s, died last week at her daughter Mrs. John Eckert’s Cedaredge Colorado home. She moved two years ago from Sidney, where the Britton home on Jackson street stood for over 40 years before being torn down. Her death followed age related frailty and blindness. A daughter Mrs. Vern Greenwood of Grand Island attended the funeral, a son lives in Chicago.

Funeral Held Sunday for Two Sisters Drowned
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from a Christian church for Margaret and Melba Ellsworth, 13 and 9, who were drowned last Thursday south of town. Rev. J. H. Bicknell led a simple, brief service with burial by Gehrig funeral service. The mother requested a restrained observance, and seven other Ellsworth children survive.
