Stronger Poison Bait Is Asked By Farmers
Farmers dissatisfied with the last grasshopper poison mix would increase the amount of poison. The state extension entomologist says the standard mix could be cut by 25 percent and remain effective. The usual mix remains 45 cents per 100 pounds, with two quarts of socium arsenite added per 600 pounds. Sodium arsenite acts slowly, killing in 3 to 5 days, and after ingestion insects slow or move to shelter, yielding few dead hoppers on many farms.

Surveyors Work On No 19 Near Dalton
Surveyors have headquarters at Dalton while laying lines on the road from Huntsman to the oil about ten miles north of Dalton. The route appears laid out by the state engineer and figures are being gathered. Corn Thief Sentenced Five Years in Scotts Bluff District
Jim Carson, suspected corn thief, received a five year prison term in Scotts Bluff district court after confessing to nine thefts. The Riley farm robbery near Broadwater was among the incidents. Former Resident Of This County Is Dead
F L McRoberts father of Charles McRoberts of Gurley died at Keeline Wyoming on Wednesday evening. He lived near Gurley from 1913 to 1917 and was known to many local residents. He moved from Illinois to Cheyenne county in 1913 and was 72. Survived by two sons Charles of Gurley and Warren of Muscatine Iowa and a daughter Mildred Wurster of Elizabeth Illinois. Charles and family went to Keeline for the funeral and will drive to Port Byron Iowa for interment.
