Independence Day Near Fatalities Reported in Sidney
Fourth of July accidents caused no deaths in Sidney but left several people with narrow escapes. D. R. Thomas and Lavern Thomas led a wrecked sedan that injured four others, with Lavern Augustine Gayle Sawicki Phyllis Weigand treated at local and distant hospitals. Ernest Burke nearly drowned at the pool and was hospitalized. Clarence Couch received treatment as well.

Hold Bluffs Man For Felony After Crash
Henry Hohlstein of Scottsbluff is bound over to Kimball county district court on a felony charge after a crash west of Potter injured Mrs. W. B. Wyker of Bernard Missouri and Sue Wykerd of Omaha. Officers say Hohlstein was intoxicated. Nazarenus of Kimball, also intoxicated, was fined $50 and costs. The injured women suffered spinal injuries, bruises and lacerations and will stay in the hospital several days.

Mrs. E W Roche mother of Dr R E Roche of Sidney died suddenly at her Kimball home from a heart attack on Wednesday. She was a longtime Kimball resident, well known in Sidney, with funeral services held at Kimball’s Catholic church and burial in Sidney Greenwood Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Edward W Roche and two children Anne of Kimball and Riley E Roche of Sidney.

Dynamite Stolen From Plant Recovered From Local Youths
Nineteen sticks of dynamite stolen from a city sewage disposal plant were found with a gang of youths near Kimball. Caps and fuses were taken. By nightfall all but three sticks were recovered, some hidden in a basement, others in the country. The three missing sticks are believed hidden somewhere in the coin- field.

California Woman Vill victim of accident west of Lodge Pole
Mrs. Louis Weinberg of Victorville, 63, died in a local hospital after her auto overturned west of Lodge Pole following a tire blowout. Her children Helen and Max and a niece Mrs. Kresna were bruised but not seriously hurt. The family had been returning from Chicago after her mother’s funeral.

Relief Funds Distributed to Counties and Non-Employables Issue
