Good Dairy Cattle On Market Reported By Nebraska Professors
Two University of Nebraska College of Agriculture professors concluded a 10 day tour of 23 counties and inspected 81 farms and six institutional herds finding a good dairy cattle market at moderate prices. Bred heifers sold 65 to 90 dollars and milking cows 75 to 110 dollars. Dairymen are using more sorghum silage and less corn trench silos.

New State Law May Aid Potter Firemen

Old Age Assistance Grants Approved for Nebraska
The social security board notified State Assistance Director Neil C. Vandemoer that Nebraska will receive a $643,208 quarterly grant for old age assistance, $19,569 for aid to the blind, and $120,198 for aid to dependent children. Alliance Man Legally Dead Seven Years Dies June 19
Edward S. Thompson of Tekamah Nebraska died in Alliance on June 19 1939 after being legally dead for seven years. Welfare officials found a 1916 letter from a daughter and evidence of a wife and three daughters in eastern Nebraska. His effects included about 2000 dollars in mostly oil and gold mine stocks now near worthless, revealing a life long concealed family and a missing seven year death declaration.
