Applications for permanent Sidney postmaster will be accepted by the civil service commission in Washington until February 13. Blanks are available at the local post office. Applicants are rated 20 points for education and training and 80 for business experience and fitness. Preference adds five points for veterans and related categories with form 14 required. For higher paying offices proof of management ability is needed and public interaction skills must be shown. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship, good health, and legal residence. Campfire Banquet An Interesting Community Event
More than 100 attendees gathered Friday evening for the annual mother and daughter banquet at the Presbyterian church. Eldora DeMotts delivered the principal talk on creative handwork and Campfire Girls nationwide. The room featured campfire colors orange and brown. Betty Sain led the program with vocal and piano solos, a dance, and a group song performed by the Abohahanta group. Meals were served by the American Legion auxiliary.

Farm debt conciliation topic at Alliance session
