Death of Fred N. Slawson Banker and County Official
Frederick N. Slawson, 59, farmer, teacher, and county officer, died Monday in Cheyenne County after a prolonged illness. Born August 14, 1874 in Shinglehouse New York, he lived in Lodgepole, taught in Lodgepole and later worked in Ogallala and Brule before returning to farming and teaching. He served as county clerk in Sidney and was connected with Liberty State Bank until it closed in December 1931. He is survived by his wife Flora, son Hugh L. Slawson of Sidney, and brother Rho Slawson of Council Bluffs Iowa. Funeral services are to be held.
