Seed loan aid urged by Cheyenne civic club resolutions
The Cheyenne county chamber of commerce adopted a resolutions committee with power to seek early seed loan consideration this spring. It urged contacting Senators Norris and Burke and Congressman Coffee to push for an appropriation bill. Agricultural Agent Swinbank warned many farmers need aid for spring field work and planting. He said no seed loan bill exists in Congress now, so action should start immediately to ensure loans arrive in time. R. A. Babcock reported 31 irrigation wells active, predicting 50 more by summer with proper chamber influence. An irrigation meeting at Ogallala on January 20 was announced.

Kimball high school won the four-division district practice debate tournament held in Sidney. Scottsbluff Sidney and Greeley tied for second in division A at 66 2 3 percent. Smith-Hughes Tree Planting Is Stressed

Bridgeport Youth Sentenced for Check Forgery
District Judge Irwin Saturday sentenced Carl Schmidt, 20, of Bridgeport, to from two to five years in the Lincoln boys reformatory after he pleaded guilty to check forgery. The $10 check drawn on Bayard’s First National bank on January 6 led to his arrest by Sheriff Frank Sweeney of Rushville at the request of Scotts Bluff county authorities.
