Stewart Farm Home Destroyed By Blaze
Fire swept the Carl Stewart farm home 22 miles southwest of Sidney Saturday morning destroying the house and all household goods. Cause of the blaze was not reported. It is understood the loss is partially covered by insurance.

Rev Oliver Riley Dies in Denver at 55
The Rev Oliver Riley, 55, dean of the Episcopal church at Scottsbluff and a well known figure here, died suddenly in Denver Thursday night. He was president of the Scottsbluff area council of Boy Scouts for four years and had appeared in Sidney in that capacity. Rev James B Roe, pastor of the Sidney Episcopal church, traveled to Scottsbluff Saturday after news of Riley's death.

Rev Fullam Loses In Race To Dying Uncle
Rev James Fullam officiated at the funeral of his uncle John James Fullam a 49 year old San Diego businessman who died after a business trip north. Fullam was stricken ill last week and died two hours before his nephew arrived by plane to administer the last rites.

Wellner Lad Injured By Pulley Yesterday
Raymond Wellner, son of Mr and Mrs Ray Wellner of Sidney farmers, suffered severe hand injuries yesterday morning when both hands were mangled in a pulley. He was taken to Sidney for treatment and may not lose any fingers though one thumb is badly hurt.

State land moratorium aids 350 lease holders
Lease holders on state lands, numbering 350, used the moratorium act to obtain extensions of time to pay delinquent rentals totaling 78 183 33 dollars and to assign leases. They may pay 10 dollars or multiples thereof by December 31, 1934. The legislature also ordered reappraisal of all state lands for those charged six percent rent. Thirty one counties requested reappraisal. Deputy Land Commissioner Wehn is organizing counties to minimize cost and time for the state land commissioner's itineraries.

Mrs Julia Ahrens Dies At Home In Sidney
Mrs Julia Ahrens 73 longtime Cheyenne county resident died at her home Saturday after a long illness. She and her late husband Mitton Ahrens came to the area in 1887 and lived on a farm before settling in Sidney. Survived by three sons Edward George and Don and five grandchildren. Funeral services at Rice funeral home with Rev F Charling Mills officiating. Burial in Greenwood cemetery beside her husband.

State Board Regrades County Land Values Across Nebraska
The state board of equalization completed land value equalization with town properties cut 15 percent and farm lands about 29 percent on average.
