Primitive man may have roamed Nebraska around 30 000 years ago during the last pleistocene ice age say Dr Earl H Bell and Dr William Van Royen of the University of Nebraska Anthropology and Geography departments. Artifacts near Dalton show flint implements with secondary chipping and a snub nose scraper used to skin prehistoric Nebraska animals. Local farmer Robert Cape reported his daughter found a flint artifact in a cemented sand cliff eight feet below the surface. Wheat prices surged with top wheat at 54 cents a bushel in Sidney and No 1 hard wheat at 72 cents in Omaha. Market quotes show May wheat 69 3 4 cents, July 70 1 2, Sept 71 3 4, May corn 36 7 8, July 39 in cents, Sept 41 3 4.
