New Rector Fills Pulpit at Episcopal Church

Potter Resident Dies in Las Vegas Saturday
Mrs. Benthine Thurston of Potter died in Las Vegas Nevada on Saturday April 5 at age 70. She had traveled to California last October where pneumonia struck after arriving in San Bernardino. The body will be shipped to Potter for burial and funeral arrangements are pending. Survived by husband Nels Thurston a daughter Mrs J M Nelson and a son Palmer of Potter.

Former Sidney Resident Thomas Birdwell Dies in Pilger
Word has been received that Thomas Birdwell formerly of Sidney died in Pilger Nebraska on February 24 from pneumonia at age 41. He lived in Sidney in his youth and married Clara M Higgins, a Sidney girl, in 1919. He worked in the barber business at the time of his death.

Funeral Services for Infant Held Monday
Stephen Thomas Lutes three and a half months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis D. Lutes of Bronson district died Sunday morning April 6 after a brief illness of bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Sidney with Rev. Hall Schenck officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood cemetery. Rice mortuary arranged arrangements. Surviving in the family are five children, three boys and two girls.

Poison Victims Moved From Hospital After Sickness
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crowe left Taylor Hospital for home last Thursday in a weakened condition after a bout of illness. Mrs. Crowe goes to her mother's home near Padroni and Mr. Crowe to his mother's home east of Peetz. Their two children who died from poison were buried at Peetz on Sunday. The surviving child did not eat the contaminated vegetables and stays with relatives near Peetz.
