A 300 pound hog owned by Dick O Bannon northeast of Alliance survived nine days buried six feet under snow after a March storm. G E Nicholas dug it from a drift while others perished. the hog later walked to a field and fed, rescued though many of its herd died.

Well Known Farmer Dies Here Last Friday
William Franzen, 49, a well known farmer southeast of Gurley, died Friday evening at a local hospital after a ten day illness. Funeral services are set for today at Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. W. T. Kahse officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
