The May meeting at the home of Mr W Kendall discussed Mothers Day and White Ribbon Recruits. Mrs Hance led the White Ribbon Recruits and Jo Ann and Jane Killen Nelson were added to the roll with gift baskets. The group planned a joint meeting with the Endicott union on flower mission work and attendees received spiritual and educational benefit.
The Kensington group met with Mrs. Othe Hansen on April 28 1931 with fifteen members present. Members expressed happiness over Mrs. Negus's return and spent the afternoon tying comfort for Mrs. Hansen followed by a dainty lunch served by the hostess. The next meeting is noted for May 12 1941 with Mire. Mastic Wolkens and a focus on Mathers.
Andrew Henry Phelps born July 1 1850 in Newton township Calhoun County died May 2 1991 aged 10 years 10 months 1 day. He lived on a farm and taught in Newton township before moving to Nebraska and joining James Forsha in a drug business at Alexandria. He married Melvina Hayes in 1291 and had three children, two sons and a daughter Effie Evans living in Hayes County. His life marked by gradual paralysis and a fall injury in 2 years prior. He was cared for by his wife and family. Funeral notices and community greetings followed, with local visits and farm activity mentioned.
Sunday school attendance is rising with new families joining. The Diller church choir hosted a fine service and provided dinner for choirs and families, creating a happy, unity building atmosphere. The Board of Trustees met at the bank. Ladies Aid meets Tuesday at the church. Funeral for Mr. Andrew H. Phelps observed. Mothers Day service planned next Sunday. Baccalaureate for the 1981 high school class set for next Sunday evening.
