Steele City community band will entertain at the Steele City Parent-Teachers Association meeting Monday evening March 27 at 8. Director Crinklaw promises a full half hour program and invites all community members to attend. Attend the Inter-Community band program March 25.

Theft at H A Drake Hardware Store reported for Monday night March 13. Mr Drake and County Sheriff Ackman traced stolen guns and merchandise to North Platte where three suspects were held. The sheriff returned them to Fairbury to await trial.
Relatives of E. W. Kendall near Montrose California report the recent west coast quake. One hundred two tremors were recorded with thirty felt strongly. Kendall, on vacation in California, says only more than an earthquake could dislodge him and hopes to visit Steele City friends.
Over forty members attended the regular monthly gathering in the Presbyterian Church parlors. J. C. Hartigan gave the evening address, noted for wit and logic. Officers elected: president P A Duis, vice president Chester Wilcox, secretary W Haddix, treasurer Wm Wehling. Next meeting April 17 will host members' families. Lyle Cassell visited Hastings earlier in the week.
Chester Wilcox seeks to block his name from ballots in School District No 1 election set for April 4 citing regulatory status of rural carriers. He was elected a nominee at a Clarks Store caucus held March 16. Inter-Community band hosts a spelling contest and entertainment program March 25 at Improvement Co hall with local talent and a five cent admission to cover costs. The Missionary Society reports twelve meetings, nineteen members, fourteen average attendance, five book reviews titled The Challenge of the Change.
