First Presbyterian Church Weekend Activities and Messages
The First Presbyterian Church announces Sunday services with Morning Worship at 11:00 a.m. Evening Service at 8:90 p.m. The theme for next Sunday is The Unpardonable Sin. The Men's Fellowship Club led last Sunday's service, with remarks on communal responsibility and music by Mr. Kendall. The Lagins Aid met at Mrs. A. T. Phelps’ home for a social and business session. Widespread thanks were offered to those aiding in bereavement and flowers. Local residents and visitors cited travel improvements hoped for.

Kerosene Blast Injures Hollenberg Depot Agent
IseRoy Tryon, depot agent at Hollenberg Kansas, is hospitalized in Fairbury with serious burns from a kerosene explosion at his home Wednesday morning. He attempted to light a fire in a stove when flames rushed through the residence trapping Mrs Tryon and their four month old baby who were rescued through a kicked in window. The home was burned to the ground.

Debating Team Ranks Among State's Top Eight
The Steele City high school debating team is listed among the eight best in the state per Hastings Tournament results. The local team returned home Saturday after the event held last week. Charley Nohava left Tobias for Steele City Tuesday and now occupies the Alva Taylor place vacated by Jacob Messmer. A Sanico range was among household items purchased by Joe Banahan of H. A. Drake Hardware Co.

Endicott Pupils to Enter World Scholarship Contest
Elementary students from Endicott Nebraska will take part in the world scholarship contest on April 5. Joseph C. Brown the superintendent has ordered 109 tests and forms for use in the Every Pupil Scholarship contests for elementary schools. The Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia sponsors the event. Tests cover arithmetic reading spelling and English.
