Despite a mild winter Steele City shows early spring signs through garden and field seed displays by local firms. G A Hamley advanced his subscription to The Steele City News on Thursday of this week.
Local farmers moved hog carloads to the St Joseph market while business visits and social calls filled the week. Ornaments include church pageant plans and a high school drama titled An Arizona Cowboy with praise for staging. John Bugbee returns home from Lincoln hospital while George Hughes visits family here.
The article reports on the Presbyterian church activities including Sunday school attendance, morning service with a musical reading by Mrs. Me nonigle, and evening services. The board of trustees held a meeting at the bank to discuss finances and pledges, aiming to close the church year by March 25 and hold the congregational meeting on March 27 with reports from church organizations. Next Sunday continues the March to Church in March with the Misgigpar society conducting an evening pageant and a special missionary offering.

The Lutheran church minister of Fairbury was present at noon. The Sonshine club will meet at the home of Mrs Henry Meyers Wednesday. John Janssen and family and Hilda Meyers spent Monday evening at the Warnke home. Vernon L Haddix 446 was a business visitor in Wilber and Westerville Monday.

Mrs George Purser from Marysville Kansas visits W Bundy home. A plate supper is planned March 17 at K P hall. Dr Heady gave tea to Shallenburg and visited Perle Justia family. Radio forecast notes snow and colder temperatures.
The Steele City No. 3055 S B A met Monday night March 2 at the K of B hall inviting one guest per member. Nellie Megonigle sang with Mrs Chester Wilcox at the piano while guests included Brother Nagle and Mrs Lillie Carr. Retreatments were served by the committee Roy James Gov Kenning and Frank Crinkian.
