The church invites all to regular services next Sunday. A teachers meeting will be hosted by A. T. Phelps at 8:00 PM next Tuesday with Mr. Palmer in charge. The Missionary Society meets Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Gretzinger. Prayers for the ill are offered and guests from college are mentioned.

Raymond Miller aged 21 son of Carl and Mrs. Miller died after an accidental gun discharge on New Year’s Eve in Leavenworth Kansas. The weapon was held by Mrs Beretta Berg according to the coroner’s jury testimony. Miller was a Methodist and had been improving at Cloverleaf Dam. He leaves his parents and five brothers. the family resided in St Joseph. Funeral was held Tuesday at Davis funeral church with Rev. E W Spencer officiating. The body rests in Asnland cemetery.
The Steele City Woman's club has not filled the contest supervisor's desk with manuscripts and not enough entries exist to risk judge disagreement. A first place prize of five dollars awaits a local playwright. Mrs. H. A. Drake will supply contest details. Judges named are Lila McDonald Susan Taylor and Mrs. J. E. Filinger.
An epidemic of influenza and pneumonia grips Steele City as Dr. I N Morgan works around the clock tending patients. He reportedly slept two hours on Wednesday night after days of nonstop calls, while illnesses spread with winter weather. Mrs Ralph Arner and children returned home from Lincoln after a week with her parents.
