Will Bundy of Fairbury visited relatives here Monday. Walter Fuqua advanced his subscription to the home paper. Will Staley visited last Friday with his brother and family. Jack Hughes of Fairbury was in Steele City with relatives. Ed Spitznogle of Washington Kansas visited Tuesday. Harry Weber was in Washington earlier this week. Leonard Payne and family with Otis Allen were Sunday guests at the Lohse home. Chas Lowe, son of F W Lowe, is in Steele City from Doane college Crete. Kendall and Phelps families carried Vance and Pharaby Boileau to Fairbury to see the reindeer. Lucille Taylor visiting from Hastings. Presbyterian church hosts a Christmas morning service led by youth and choir with Mrs Megonigle assisting. P T A Meeting to Discuss English Home Lesson

The Steele City Parent-Teachers Association plans a Monday December 21 meeting at the local high school. A talk titled The importance of Good English in the Home will be delivered by Miss Crocket. The Farmers Union shipped a carload of hogs to the St Joseph market Monday.

Steele City Band Sees Growing Membership At Practice

RB and Mrs Jennie Shanek hosted a December 22 meeting with 16 members and visitors. Christmas gifts were exchanged and lunch served. Next meeting is January 12 with Mrs Etta Seifford. The Steele City band reports light turnout but steady progress and ongoing recruitment.
