Gas Pipeline Blast Shocks Rural Community
A gas line burst on the Will Luering farm Sunday causing a large explosion. High heat and burning gas sent flames hundreds of feet into the air while rains had washed dirt from the pipes. Rainy week sparks fall field prep and pasture boost

Chanute Kansas, with a 10 000 population, has built a municipal water plant electric light and power plant and gas distribution system.
