Steele City defeated Powell 4 to 2 on Powell’s field. Steele City led early and stayed ahead with 10 hits while Powell managed two runs in the third and seventh innings. Charles Chester Andrews veteran cattle shipper dies at 72
Funeral services held Tuesday at the Presbyterian church in Steele City for Charles Chester Andrews aged 72 who died suddenly last Saturday near Steele City from acute Brights disease. He was a longtime livestock shippper and farmer, served on the local school board, and was a member of the Presbyterian church. Survivors include Rosa B. Andrews widow, seven children, six grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters. Interment in Steele City cemetery.
