Hollenberg Incorporation Brings New Mayor and Board
The village of Hollenberg recently incorporated with Mrs. Mabel Bart named mayor at the first election. George Parks, Harry Henderson, Lee Myers, John Mueller and Iris Sutton elected to the board. Parks resigned and Mrs. Fracie Parks appointed to fill the vacancy. Residents P Wathor and wife of New Kirk Okla visit Parks and Wathor households. Elizabeth McCawley returns to Fairbury after a month with Wm. Cumro and Wm. McCawley. Prof. J W Heflin moves to teach at the high school and will live in the Ralph Hyland property. Local merchants sponsor a free picture show each Tuesday all summer. Miss Lucy Weber returns from a visit with sister Mrs. Grant Wing at Gilead. Kensington Club Plans Annual Picnic at City Park
The Kensington group met August 1 at Mrs. Clara Novotov's home with six members and six children present. The annual picnic is set for August 22 at Fairbury City Park. members and families are invited. Next regular meeting is August 24 at Mrs. Edna Clark's home. Roy Corbin and wife and Clyde Corbin and wife returned from a visit to Broken Row and other points in Custer county.

Faithful Carry On Church Duties Despite Absences

Woman's Missionary Society entertained by local ladies
The Woman's Missionary Society was hosted Wednesday afternoon by Mesdames E Kendall A T Phelps and F Haddix. Mrs P A Duis cited biblical passages and noted outstanding Christians. A family reunion was held last Sunday in a grove at the home of Mr and Mrs Earl Nutter with over forty people from multiple towns attending. Sheriff Emil Aekman visited Sweele City on Wednesday.

Miss Maxine Aleta Earhart daughter of L L Earhart Steele City and Elwyn Neal Dees son of A Dees Lorraine wed in Lawrence Kansas at the Green home on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony featured Rev Edwin F Price with fifty guests and highlighted by orchid decor and a reception. The couple plan a three week Canada motor trip and will reside at 343 Missouri Street Lawrence after the wedding.

Mrs John Kuper of Diller mother of Mrs Hugo Greenwood of Steele City died in Cheyenne Wyoming after an auto crash near Cheyenne on Saturday. Funeral services were held Thursday in Diller. Survived by daughters Mrs Harry Baker Mrs Hugh Greenwood and Mrs Roy Pusey and sons Dave Kuper Linn Kuper. Local notes and ads follow.
