Fairbury Beats Steele City in Kittenball Victory

Fairbury defeated Steele City in a fast kittenball game at the local diamond last Monday evening. Lanyon hit a fifth inning home run and Luttman scored in the sixth as Fairbury completed two squares on a scoreless board. The Steele City lineup included C Darling and L Kuper while the Fairbury side featured P Miller and D Russell.

Secretary W. C. Andreas Appointed for Wheat Plan

W. C. Andreas starts as emergency agricultural agent and secretary to the county organization committee in Jefferson County. He will work from Fairbury courthouse, under civil service, funded by the agricultural adjustment act, reporting to W. H. Brokaw at Lincoln. He will organize community meetings, verify grower lists, assist with applications, and help build county records for the Wheat Growers organization.
