Lemmon schools opened Tuesday with 118 students enrolled. Teachers and students gather for the new year as Macomber & Co. stock the books and nonresident tuition questions arise. The Bison court session, led by Judge Rice, aims for a brief term with Fisher and several civil cases adjourned to June.
Meadowites celebrated Labor Day with two days of diverse sports amid propitious weather. Attendance was good though the Indians failed to appear as scheduled. The race course drew most interest with clashes and western events each afternoon, highlighted by Win Cillertson and his horses Babe and Blackbird sweeping firsts in nearly all horse races.
A plan to sell subscriptions to build an eight sided exhibition pavilion with a 24 foot diameter, costing about 500 dollars. Messrs Braught Brown and Gross are to solicit funds already subscribed. If approved, the city will receive the pavilion for public use to display agricultural, garden and mineral products of the region.
